Sonatus wins two 2024 MotorTrend SDV Innovator Awards

Jan 10, 2024

Last night in Las Vegas, coincident with the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Sonatus senior executives were honored to receive, not one, but two Software Defined Vehicle Innovator Awards from MotorTrend. MotorTrend continues to shine a spotlight on the importance of innovation in vehicle software with its annual SDV Innovator Awards that highlight Pioneers, Leaders, or Experts in the field of vehicle software technology.

According to MotorTrend’s announcement of the winners, released today, “MotorTrend’s senior editorial staff reviewed 51 nominations this year, conducting additional research on the candidates before selecting the winners….Ultimately, editors chose the winners by looking for individuals with a demonstrated track record of innovation and impact.”

Jeff Chou, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Sonatus received the MotorTrend SDV Leader Award “… for leading the development of the highly connected and award-winning Sonatus Vehicle Platform from idea to implementation in millions of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis cars.” Jeff has a long history of leadership at Cisco and other companies he founded that helped drive advanced technologies, infrastructure products and cloud computing. His work to apply those same concepts, but tailored for the unique needs of vehicles, was integral to develop the platform and secure its adoption by HMC and in mass production.

Yu Fang, Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Sonatus received the SDV Pioneer award for “…leading the way in developing fast, flexible software solutions for car and cloud that take advantage of existing electrical engineering architecture while delivering SDV capability.” Yu’s technical background in software defined data center was integral to developing Sonatus Vehicle Platform, which is in over a million mass production vehicles today. By leveraging the dynamically configurable vehicle infrastructure, resources, and services enabled by Sonatus Vehicle Platform, OEMs are able to continuously deliver newer and better user experiences to their customers with fast time-to-market and minimum cost.

We are grateful to MotorTrend for recognizing our achievements and to the incredible team at Sonatus who have helped us deliver advanced software solutions into vehicles. These awards spotlight achievements of the past, but we are not standing still. At CES this week we are demonstrating compelling new innovations for current and future software defined vehicles that will continue to advance the state of vehicle software for years to come. We look forward to sharing these new innovations with the industry and welcome you to check these out at our booth (#4325 West Hall, LVCC).
